What it does
Nose filler is a small amount of hyaluronic acid placed at specific points on the bridge and around the tip. It cannot make a nose smaller. What it changes is the line your profile draws, which is usually the thing men are reacting to when they say they do not like their nose.
The commonest job is a bump. A little product above it and a little below it means light runs down a straight line instead of catching an edge. The bump is still there. It has stopped being the first thing anyone sees.
The second commonest is a tip that sits low, which makes the whole nose read as longer and heavier than it is. A small amount at the base lifts it two or three millimetres, and two or three millimetres is a great deal on a nose.
It takes about half an hour including the consultation. No cutting, no splint, no packing and no time off.
Is this you?
- There is a bump on the bridge you notice in every side-on photo
- Your nose looks fine straight on and wrong from the side
- The tip drops when you smile
- You have thought about surgery for years and never booked it
How it goes
-
Consultation, 10 minutes
A doctor looks at your nose from the front, from the side and from underneath, and at what it does when you smile. He will tell you what filler can change and what it cannot. Some noses are better left alone and some need a surgeon.
-
Numbing, 10 minutes
Cream first, and the product carries a local anaesthetic.
-
Treatment, 15 minutes
Small amounts, placed slowly, with you sitting up so the profile can be checked as it goes. You see the change in the mirror before you leave.
-
Two weeks later
Free review. Noses settle, and if a millimetre needs adding, it gets added then.
Results
Same light, same angle, same distance, no retouching.
Nothing here yet. New results go up as patients consent to them.
A photograph goes up here only once the man in it has signed a consent form for that exact use. We would rather show you nothing than show you somebody else's stock photo, or a pair shot under two different lights.
Will I look done?
Nose filler cannot make a nose smaller. It makes a nose look straighter and more balanced by adding a small amount of product in specific places, usually above and below a bump so the profile reads as a line. Done well, people notice that your face looks more balanced without working out why.
A nose is also the least forgiving thing on a face, which is why this is done by a doctor, in small amounts, with a review two weeks later.
How it compares to surgery
A surgical rhinoplasty costs several thousand pounds, takes weeks to recover from and does not wear off. This is not that. It takes half an hour, it costs a fraction of it, and it fades over a year or so.
They are different tools for different jobs. If surgery is genuinely what you need, we will tell you that rather than sell you filler.
£450
per treatment
Includes the consultation, the treatment, the product, aftercare and your two-week review.
If a doctor decides at the consultation that your nose is not suitable, you pay nothing.
Who does it TBC
Every treatment at SkinBros is carried out by a doctor registered with the General Medical Council.
We do not build individual profiles for the doctors who treat you, because we would rather you trusted the clinic and the standard than a name on a website. Your doctor will introduce himself, and he will give you his GMC number if you ask. You can look any doctor up on the register yourself.
Every appointment starts with an assessment, and part of a doctor's job is to tell you when the answer is to do nothing.
Questions
Will it look natural?
Nose filler cannot make a nose smaller. What it does is make the profile read as a straighter line, usually by placing a small amount of product above and below a bump. Done well, people notice your face looks more balanced without working out why. A nose is the least forgiving thing on a face, which is why this is done by a doctor, in small amounts, with a review two weeks later.
Is it permanent?
No. It typically lasts 12 to 18 months and it can be dissolved before that if you want it gone.
Does it hurt?
It is uncomfortable rather than painful. We use numbing cream first, and the filler itself contains a local anaesthetic. Anti-wrinkle injections feel like a scratch and are over in a couple of minutes. Most men tell us it was less than they expected.
How does this compare to surgery?
A surgical rhinoplasty costs several thousand pounds, takes weeks to recover from, and is permanent. This takes half an hour, costs a fraction of that, and wears off. They are different tools for different jobs. If surgery is genuinely what you need, we will tell you that rather than sell you filler.
Will I bruise?
You might. Any injection can bruise, and using a cannula rather than a needle reduces it a lot but does not remove it. If you have a wedding or a big meeting coming up, leave a week.
Is it reversible?
Yes. We use hyaluronic acid fillers, which can be dissolved with an enzyme. That is one of the main reasons we use them. Anti-wrinkle treatment is not dissolvable but it wears off on its own in three to four months.
Is everyone suitable?
No. If you have had surgical work on your nose, or if what bothers you is size rather than shape, filler may not be the right answer. That is a conversation at the consultation, and the consultation is free.
